Organisational Plan for a COVID-19 Safe Work Environment

At Our Dentist@World Square, we are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all patients, staff, and visitors by reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our dental practice.

1. Purpose

To ensure the highest standard of safety and infection control in line with NSW Health and the Australian Dental Association (ADA) guidelines.

2. Responsibilities

  • Practice Principal / Manager: Oversees the implementation and review of COVID-safe measures.

  • All Staff: Must follow infection control, hygiene, and distancing protocols.

  • Patients: Are requested to follow our clinic’s safety guidelines during visits.

3. Infection Control Measures

  • Adherence to ADA and NSW Health infection prevention standards.

  • Regular cleaning and disinfection of treatment areas and high-touch surfaces.

  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and face shields.

  • Hand sanitiser stations available throughout the clinic.

4. Patient Screening & Appointments

  • COVID-19 screening questions before appointments.

  • Temperature checks (as required).

  • Patients with symptoms or recent exposure are asked to reschedule.

  • Staggered appointment times to reduce waiting room contact.

5. Physical Distancing

  • Limited patient numbers in waiting areas.

  • Clear floor markings and signage to support distancing.

  • Contactless check-in and payment via HICAPS or EFTPOS.

6. Staff Health & Training

  • Staff do not attend work if unwell and follow NSW Health isolation guidance.

  • Regular training on infection control and COVID-safe procedures.

  • Continuous review of NSW Health and ADA updates to ensure compliance.

7. Communication & Signage

  • Visible signage outlining hygiene, mask, and distancing requirements.

  • Patient updates shared via email, SMS, and our website.

8. Record Keeping & Contact Tracing

  • Accurate patient and staff attendance records maintained per privacy laws.

  • Cooperation with NSW Health for contact tracing if required.

9. Review & Continuous Improvement

This plan is reviewed regularly and updated as required by current government and health authority advice. Feedback from staff and patients is always welcome to improve our safety measures.
