The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS)

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a government program that helps cover the cost of essential dental services for children and teenagers aged 2 to 17 years.

Dental Services Covered

The scheme includes essential dental services such as dental exams, x-rays, fissure sealants, fillings and extractions. Eligible children can receive up to $1,132 in benefits over a two-calendar-year period.

Eligibility

To access CDBS, your child must:

• Be aged 2–17 years

• Be eligible for Medicare

• Have received an eligible government payment for at least one day in the calendar year

Out-of-Pocket Expenses

For services provided under the CDBS within the benefit limit, there are no out-of-pocket expenses.
